SAT Prep and College Prep Workshops (Junior Year)
In the Spring, Juniors enroll in SAT Prep. They review Math, Reading, and Writing fundamentals required to score well on the SAT and learn effective test-taking strategies and techniques. Specially designed practice tests allow us to create individual training plans to help students achieve their highest possible score. Students will also begin exploring different colleges as they discover which school best fits them, learn about their requirements, and narrow in on which schools to apply to. In addition, getting to meet admission representatives from different colleges, discuss about majors and careers, overview of financial aid, preparing for professional opportunities (job shadowing, internships, etc), and how to write resumes and cover letters.
Note: During COVID and while schools remain online with distance learning, UW STEMsub is committed to support our schools and students. We continue to work with students (via Zoom) on a daily basis, host Saturday Workshops, and provide academic and college advising support to help them succeed.
