UW STEMsub is open to all eligible students regardless of race, sex, or other identity.
UW STEMsub students must attend either Chief Sealth, Cleveland, Foster, or Franklin High Schools in King County, WA.
UW STEMsub students apply during their sophomore or junior year and remain in the program through high school graduation.
To be eligible, UW STEMsub students must be low-income (as defined by federal guidelines) and/or potential first generation college students. The regulations for Upward Bound Math Science programs require that two-thirds of the participants in a project must be both low-income and potential first-generation students. The remaining one-third must be either low-income or first-generation college students.
UW STEMsub students must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States.
UW STEMsub students must have a need for academic support in order to pursue successfully a program of education beyond high school.
Participants should not be currently enrolled in another Federal TRIO Upward Bound
