Rising SEAs Conference


Rising SEAs is a conference designed for Southeast Asian high school students who are interested in applying to the University of Washington Seattle. The purpose of the conference is to encourage, motivate and empower Southeast Asian students to purse higher education, as well as to give them an opportunity to experience what the University of Washington has to offer. Participants will meet UW staff and current UW Southeast Asian students, receive information on college admission, campus programs, and resources. Through interactive workshops, the collective space will provide an opportunity for participants to share their Southeast Asian cultural experience and build community with fellow participants in preparation to be a competitive applicant to UW.

Target Group

Underrepresented Southeast Asian and Asian American high school students.

Underrepresented Southeast Asian students are defined but not limited to the following ethnic heritages: Khmer, Khmer Loeu, Khmer Krom, Hmong, Mien, Khmu, Lao, Taidam, Tai Lue, Vietnamese, Cham, Montagnards, Karen; this group also includes students from Bhutanese and Burmese heritages.

Parent/Guardian Permission Form

Students are required to submit a parent/guardian permission form to participate in the virtual conference. You will be emailed a permission slip via DocuSign several days before the conference. As soon as you receive it, please have your parent/guardian digitally submit the form.
